From viscous to elastic, from latex to composites, the MonTech Rubber Process Analyzer D-RPA 3000 can analyze the dynamic mechanical properties for a wide Phase Shift TanDelta range of rubber, elastomers and other viscoelastic materials. The sample is compressed in a closed die cavity between two biconical heated dies - a high-force direct drive torque motor mounted to the lower die generates a dynamic load - and optional a static load, while the material response is measured by a reaction torque transducer mounted to the upper die. Amplitude While conventional Rubber Rheometers operate at temperature above ambient, MonTech has developed the MCool-40 system for sub- ambient and sub-zero testing. This unique system with closed refrigeration circuit and heat exchanger directly integrated in the test die assembly reaches temperatures as low as -40°C using a external refrigeration unit which eliminates the need of liquid nitrogen or any auxiliary gases. To account for material shrinkage, MonTech uses its proprietary cavity pressure Torque response Strain control technology ensuring the any material change due to thermal shrinkage is automatically compensated. Curemeter and in-situ dynamic mechanical thermal analyzer (DMA & DMTA) Combining low temperature testing technology with a rubber curemeter to perform traditional Rubber Rheology and Dynamic Mechanical tests (DMA) tests has greatly expanded testing possibilities and eliminates the need for performing other auxiliary tests which may need additional samples preparation and test devices. For the first time Rubber Process Analyzes can now we used as Dynamic Mechanical and Thermal Analyzer covering the entire temperature and shear rate range relevant to elastomers and rubber compounds. This ultimately allows users to save precious development time and cost to get new materials quicker developed and new products quicker to the market. Tire industry customers have found low-temperature testing capabilities as the quickest and most efficient testing method for assessing key performance parameters of newly developed compounds and formulations - not only winter tires! MonTechs’ MCool-40 cooling unit is easy and convenient to operate as it is directly integrated in the control of the test machine allowing low temperature tests to me performed in less then 20 minutes allowing to use the system also in quality control and to create instant fingerprints of materials. Excellent correlations to e.g. tire traction, wet/skid performance and rolling resistance are used to ultimately ensure that tire labeling requirements are consistently met under high volume production conditions. Low temperature testing has further evolved from tire industry and raw material applications also into technical rubber and demanding specialty applications - e.g. to assess the low and high temperature fatigue performance of seals for rocket booster tanks.
